#SBAwards Q&A with Remi Cachet

#SBAwards Q&A with Remi Cachet
Fiona Ward

We had a chat with Victoria Lynch, founder of Remi Cachet Hair Extensions, to find out what she thinks it takes to succeed in the Education Salon of the Year category…

Why is education so important within a salon business?

Good education can inspire your stylists to really promote and use the product well; sharing their knowledge to advise customers and get the most from your investment in training. It’s also crucial that stylists understand the correct and most up-to-date techniques and learn some new skills for their own personal development.

What does good education mean to you?

It means everything. Personally I take a day out a week to devote to training, and developing our education further. But seeing a stylist do their first few applications after training, their confidence and love of application is the best reward. We love sharing little tips and techniques to make their life easier and boost passion for the product they are using.

What advice would you have for people entering this category?

Stop and think about all aspects of the training that you do – not just the hairdressing techniques, but all the details of running a successful salon and how you train your team in customer service to make your salon stand out.  Don’t forget to back it up with an example of where this has worked well and the effect it has made. For those who are brave enough, I think it’s nice to also see mistakes you’ve made along the way and how you have learnt so you can get the best out of your team.

What would they need to show to win in your opinion?

Their commitment to an on-going programme across the salon team and good evidence to support their entry. As well as investing in the best courses to bring the most out of an individual team members.
