FRANCESCO AT CANNES
It’s been an exciting month for award winning salon, Francesco Group, as some of their team were attended the Cannes Film Festival on the 19th May-21st May, to style hair for designers from all over the world.
Day one saw the Francesco Group team, compromising of Paul Corbett, Galina Johnson and Phil Underhill, style Italian Magazine Editor Giulia Deamina’s hair, who was heading to the red carpet to watch the Palme d’Or nominated, Jupiter’s Moon. The next day was intense for the Francesco Group team who worked round the clock to style 40 models for the seven designers, quickly changing looks in between the shows.
The Francesco Group team styled the designers’ models’ hair for them before heading to the Global Short Film Awards, an exclusive gala event held at the famous Intercontinental Carlton Hotel, where they showcased their latest designs on the catwalk. Designers included Hany El Behairy from Egypt and DiDomenico Designs from the USA; and finished with an evening finale where designer and event’s creator, Andres Aquino, (who always pushes boundaries with his shows and unique designs) showcasing his latest creations.
The Francesco Group teams brief for the hair was ‘Red Carpet Couture’ and the looks created included a vintage Hollywood wave, styled on Kim Basigner in LA Confidential, Grecian Buns, inspired by Keira Knightley at last years Cannes Film Festival, a Japanese aesthetic look, with soft blossom flowers, adorning the slicked hairstyles, which were strikingly highlighted with glitter partings. Gold leaf was used with stunning effect on the final look of the night, which was inspired by Samurai and Japanese culture including Geisha.
