Blog: Leandro Santana Santos talks about winning Gold
Leandro Santana Santos from Santanna Hair Studio won Gold in Ireland’s Color Vision Category at the TrendVision Award UK & Ireland Final for the second time, having also won the title at the 2014 UK & Ireland Final. As part of his prize, he won the opportunity to spend four days being mentored by some of the biggest names in the industry.
“Every minute of the TrendVision Award has been incredible. I’ve gained so many new skills and such a variety of techniques over the course of the four days of the mentoring programme. These will help me to not only take my entry for the International Final to the next level, but I will also be able to take the best of what I have learned back to my clients in the salon.
“Hearing from some of the leaders of the industry has helped me to see hairdressing in a different way and has opened my eyes to the diversity that exists. It has also opened me up to new techniques and colour palettes that I hadn’t considered using before.
“The mentors encouraged us to have confidence in our skills and to push ourselves out of our comfort zones and experiment.
