Blog: Shabaz Hussain makes the most of Wella’s mentoring
Shabaz Hussain from HOB Salons was the Gold winner of the UK Young Talent Category at the TrendVision Award 2015. Shabaz won four days of mentoring which allowed him to gain an insight into the mindset of some of the leaders of British Hairdressing.
“I have loved the whole experience of competing in the TrendVision Awards. I have benefitted in so many ways, but most importantly the mentors have inspired me to push myself further and to ensure that I put an extra 10 percent into my work. This will help me both with my entry into the International Final, as well as within my work in the salon.
“My time on the mentoring programme has helped me to evolve my craft. I’ve also learned that in order to truly impress, you must consider the look as a whole while remembering to pay close attention to detail.
“I’m going to take the skills that I’ve gained and share them with my team in the salon. I love that the benefits of winning Gold at the TrendVision Awards goes further than myself and can impact everyone. There’s been a real buzz back in the salon right through from the Photographic stages to the final.
“I’ve treasured the entire experience of competing and would recommend it to everyone.”
