SBColourFest: Top Four Hair Colour Trends For Spring/Summer 2025
Jose Amoros, Art Director at Myla + Davis shares the top colour trends influenced by the SS25 runways.
Think Pink
We predict a nod to the Cotton Candy Pink trend with some opalescent, watered-down variations like a pearlescent glass-like shine. Infuse energetic traditional pastel colours with the high-shine treatment, which is perfect for festival season. Nail this trend by leaving the roots natural and colour-free and use creative violet-based toners on pre-lightened locks. Pair with a textured, effortless cut.
Copper Load
Elegant rich reds ruled the runways. Think a deeper shade than copper but lighter than Auburn. Cinnamon and ruby tones suit warmer skin tones, while Clients with cooler skin tones suit berry and burgundy. Copper balayages scream luxe and can be tailor-made to suit your client’s needs. Add a clear toner to add a nail-like top coat to locks, and clients will also be nailing the glass hair trend this season.
Sweet Thing
Enhance Clients’ skin tone with the sweetest sugary blonde. The high-shine, luxe addition takes in warmer tones to brighten the hair. A clay-based balayage bleach is essential for that delicate lift, and a soft blending technique keeps the brightness scattered and sun-kissed. Follow with a toner like Davines 10/34 that complements and enhances the natural warmth of your client’s hair. Maintain the hue with Davines Instant Bonding Glow, and enhance reflection with Heart of Glass, Intense Treatment.
Mocha Mousse
Whether its neutral nude shades (beige and taupe), shimmering shades of bronze, or monotone colours closer to your clients’ natural shade, this season’s trend is for warmth, health and shine. The runways were filled with glossy nods to Pantone’s colour of the year, with the chocolate box shades reflecting an increasing need for comfort next season.
Recreate multi-dimensional colours with depth and shine; glossing is a great way to add richness while maintaining a low-commitment, natural colour. Adding mocha lowlights to blonder hair can work perfectly for your lighter-haired clients, whilst mocha highlights on a brunette base help reflect the shine. Face framing pieces also help add depth. Maintain colour with Davines Alchemic Chocolate Shampoo and Conditioner.
