environmental public charity, Matter of Trust, and is encouraging UK salons to return any used hair
pieces to help create innovative solutions for cleaning up oil spills.

Mission

The non-profit organisation, established more than 20 years ago, has a mission to link surplus with needs and uses the hair donations it receives from individuals and salons to create felted mats, which are used to soak up petrochemicals and help keep waterways clean.

Effective

What makes human hair so effective is that it is adsorbent, not absorbent, which means it can get
coated in oil without swelling up like a sponge and thanks to its unique structure, one pound of hair can soak up one litre of oil in just one minute.

Rapture hair extensions will last between 6 – 8 weeks before a quick and easy removal, re application and styling, while the quality of the real hair piece means that the extensions can be re-used for between 3 – 9 months, depending on aftercare and maintenance.

Returning Hair
