Denman College Star Celebrates Win
Yasmin Ainsley from East Durham College was the very first winner of the Denman College Star title, and took a moment to celebrate her win recently by accepting her prize.
Yasmin won Denman’s Big Blowout competition taking home a giant £1000 cash prize, plus bagging a tool bundle for her college department.

“I’m planning on using some of the money for a spa day or evening with my best friend Poppy, who also entered, and the remainder of the money on a holiday to my favourite place, Greece. I love my Denman kit and shall be keeping it forever. The large head hugger is definitely my fave for blow-drying. I’ve been doing bouncy blow-dries with it ever since,”- Yasmin.
Measuring Skills
Sandra Joyce, Hairdressing Lecturer from East Durham College recently encouraged her Students to enter and is a huge fan of competitions as a way to help her Learners improve confidence and give them an opportunity to measure their skills against their peers regionally and nationally.
“This was an excellent opportunity to enter a competition that Level 1, 2, and 3 Students can participate in, plus the Denman tool bundle was a great range and quality of tools and equipment for our department” – Sandra.
