Craig Henderson of Craig’s Barber Shop recently won the community champion award recognising all the work he does with Specialist Division Schools and Nurseries.

Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Awards
It’s the only Greater Manchester-wide awards which recognises the amazing contributions from our whole health and care workforce. Over 530 nominations were submitted this year. A record high! It featured 13 different categories, including leadership, innovation and volunteer champion, with each nomination sharing the extraordinary stories from across our employed and unwaged workforce.

Helping Children
Specialist Division Schools and Nurseries help children and young adults with additional needs by helping them get desensitised to the experience in a safe and controlled place. Eventually this helps them to fit into “normal” Barber or hairdressing settings.

NHS Award
“This award is just an incredible achievement, I’m sure that I’m the only person within the hair industry to win an NHS award, and it means more to me than any of the other hair industry awards that I’ve won. Knowing that the NHS are recognising my efforts, and also recognising that everyone in the community deserves an haircut,”- Craig Henderson.
