Alan reaches 80
Alan celebrated his 80th Birthday surrounded by the Alan d Team and students after a Family Tea at the weekend.
Alan d hairdressing and barbering education has been shaping London’s hairstyling industry for over 60 years. With a history dating back to the 1950s, some of the biggest names have been trained by Alan d. They offer a wide range of courses with diplomas for new and upcoming talent and existing professionals that seek to further advance their careers.
“It was such a surprise to see everyone jumping out to sing Happy Birthday to me. I might be 80 but being surrounded by young people keeps you young and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate,” – Alan.

“Looking back at those last 7 years, in retrospect it is probably been the most interesting and challenging of times we’ve had since the early 90’s. As you can see, thankfully, I’m still alive and still doing it,” – Alan d.
