A group of six up and coming hairdressers have been chosen to create the new Generation NOW team for 2016. Generation NOW was launched six years ago by Wella Professionals to discover rising stars hungry to make their mark in the world of hairdressing.

Providing a unique platform for inspirational, up and coming talent, Wella’s Generation NOW offers a spectacular launch pad to those involved to become a key player in the competitive hairdressing industry. Those talented six are:

Galina Johnson – Francesco Group Streetly, Sutton Coldfield

Shauna Forman – House Of Colour, Dublin

Kay Corbett – Medusa, Edinburgh

Nikki Clifford- NJUK, Chesterfield

Paolo Silveri – Supercuts in Liverpool Street Station, London

Gemma Galley – Volt, Sheffield

The rigorous audition process saw all entrants firstly submit an example of their work and a written entry demonstrating their knowledge of fashion and beauty trends, their passion for hairdressing and why they want to be part of the Generation NOW team, before moving on to the audition stage.

During the auditions, entrants were put through their paces in front of a panel of judges from Wella Professionals with guest judges from the Industry.

Candidates had to prepare a model and present them to the judges demonstrating why they would make a great Generation NOW Team member. In the afternoon session entrants were given a brief which they had to recreate in a workshop to demonstrate their hairdressing skills.

Now the search for the Generation NOW team is over, this group of budding stars will experience the chance to work with and be inspired by numerous iconic hairdressers over the next year. Their year commences with an intensive Bootcamp week where they will be mentored by a team of leading industry experts.

The team will be involved in a busy schedule of exciting events and activities organised by Wella Professionals, to help them gain an invaluable insight into what it takes to work at the top level of the industry. The newly crowned Generation Now team will go on to work at the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award UK & Ireland Final, as well as featuring on the Fellowship Stage at Salon International.

Set to become the benchmark for up and coming, inspirational talent, each member of the Wella Professionals’ Generation NOW team can look forward to developing and honing their skills to make them one of the UK and Irelands most in-demand professional hair stylists and colourists in years to come.
