Wella and OPI: Fashion Week Roundup
Dion Lee X Wella Professional
Eugene Souleiman created strong and natural hair looks with delicate braids to complement Dion Lee’s AW20 collection.
Inspiration
Dion Lee’s AW20 collection uses elements of hardware, so Eugene Souleiman, Wella Professionals Global Creative Director of Care & Styling, felt it was important to create a hair look that felt strong and natural.“We wanted to do a center part but open up the face.Normally a center part closes the face, but with the element of hair being delicately braided away from the front hairline, it gives the look tension and the linear detail of the braid lifts the face. It’s a contemporary take on minimalism,”says Souleiman.

The Inspiration
Preen’s AW20 collection is a triumph of elegant, feminine daywear, with a veil of gold renaissance influence. Notes of blood-red hinted at theof ending of the designer’s key inspiration;the darkly romantic film adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s ‘Don’t Look Now’,set in 1970s Venice. The gold-gilded setting of Venetian architecture, combined with the modern feminist direction of today’s Art Biennale, are credited as key in the development of this season’s collection.
The Hair
The modernist, perfectionismtake on renaissance hair is all aboutthecleanraw texturesachieved through copious layers of WellaProfessionals EIMI products for this look.
