The Rush Oscars – Celebrating Success
This years’ annual RUSH Oscars were held at the luxurious Phoenix Theatre, where the team celebrated another outstanding year, new salon openings, a new academy and the RUSH Art Team entering hairdressings ‘Hall of Fame’, after winning Artistic Team of the Year, three times. The atmosphere was electric as RUSH CEO and Co-founder, Stell Andrew gave a passionate and motivational welcoming speech that truly inspired the 1000 plus attendees – the RUSH Oscars once again provided the perfect way to get 2018 off to a flying start.
Sharing Plans
Hosted by International Creative Director, Andy Heasman and International Colour Director, Chris Williams, who thanked the RUSH family “for making us as amazing as we are!”. Andy went on to share RUSH’s plans for educating and developing the brand and stated how proud the RUSH family is of the entire team.
Many Successes
Chris then welcomed CEO and Co-Founder of RUSH, Andy Phouli to the stage. Giving an impassioned speech, Andy highlighted the many successes of 2017, including the launch of the new RUSH Academy and award wins and nominations at the British Hairdressing Awards. He went on to add, “with an impeccable team of talented hairdressers, full of passion and creativity, with one goal and one commitment – 2018 is set to be our most successful year ever. Andy and Stell’s message was loud and clear, “2018 is all about setting goals in business and creativity and using our skills to achieve them. Through training and education RUSH will grow and develop both creatively and as a business.”
Charity Work
Each year, RUSH raise valuable funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital with their RUSH Live Show. This year was no exception and to add to the total raised at RUSH Live, additional funds were raised at Andy Phouli’s birthday party, where guests were asked to donate to GOSH instead of bringing a birthday gift which added an additional £10,000 to the total. RUSH’s Tina Farey and Paola Pinto took to the stage to speak about how much the company’s long-standing relationship and commitment with GOSH means and presented GOSH with a cheque for £14,245.83 which took the total raised over eight years to £135,000.
The Awards
It was then on to the awards as Andy and Chris took center stage with George Phouli, Peter Phouli, Paola Pinto and Chris Williams all handing out awards throughout the evening. The awards were keenly anticipated with the announcement of Ashley Haynes as the newest member of the RUSH Artistic Team, and Tom Atkinson winning the Photographic Competition, the prize included a photographic shoot. As well as fantastic awards being handed out throughout the night, the new Academy Director, Adam Bryant took to the stage and was welcomed to the RUSH family announcing he was “overwhelmed with the support on my new role and proud to be a part of such a great team.”
