SAKS HAIR & BEAUTY UK: POUT WITH PURPOSE FOR GYNAE CANCERS

SAKS HAIR & BEAUTY UK: POUT WITH PURPOSE FOR GYNAE CANCERS
Sam Robinson

Saks salons have raised £125,827 to aid The Eve Appeal’s essential research into the five women-only cancers of the cervix, ovaries, vagina, vulva and womb. This tots up the Saks4Eve totaliser to half way towards a target of £250,000 for 2020.

High Profile Campaign

Most recently the brand joined an array of high profile campaign ambassadors including Caroline Hirons, Cherry Healy, Karen Hobbs and Helen Lederer to support Eve’s new May campaign, #GETLIPPY.

Get Lippy

Janet King, Head of Marketing at Saks UK, says: “We’re so nailing our fundraising. For Get Lippy we put the emphasis on shouting about the importance of getting your smear when it’s due and getting checked out if something seems wrong. Janet continues: “We’re also encouraging parents to teach daughters the correct language to use so they’re not embarrassed to talk to their GPs about gynae issues. VERY proud!”

Vital Fundraising

An example of taking #SAKS4EVE to another level comes from Debbie Passman, owner of Saks Beauty Guisborough, for this pitch *pout* perfect Instagram post: “Day off today and just had a quick 5 min catch up with Mariane at my local surgery, chatting about our holibobs and the amazing work The Eve Appeal does to raise vital fundraising and awareness of women’s gynae cancers, all whilst she carried out my PAIN FREE, QUICK & SIMPLE routine smear. I wouldn’t miss this appointment for the world and neither should you! Grab your speculum Mariane it’s time for a quick selfie!”

Target Smashing

Since 2015, Saks people in salons across the UK have blow-dried, baked, cycled, massaged, nail-painted, pants paraded, ran, raffled, sky-dived, spray-tanned, walked, waxed and zip-wired their way past £125,000.  Athena Lamnisos, CEO of The Eve Appeal, says: “Target smashing Team Saks4Eve has done it again! Past the midway mark of reaching a fundraising target that will help us save women’s lives through raising awareness and funding world-class research. We’re so thrilled to count Saks as a special partner and have the whole Saks team championing Eve and women’s health up and down the country, all year round. Together we can make a difference to the women of today and women of the future who are affected by these cancers. There’s so much power in Saks4Eve. We can’t wait to see what they’ve got planned for 2019!”
