New role for Steven Smart at Revlon
Maverick stylist and former world hair champion Steven Smart has landed the role of a lifetime as Brand Ambassador and Revlon Professional Pro Master to the resurgent Revlon brand. And to mark his new star status, Steven was singled out for the honour of creating Daenerys Targaryen in Revlon’s Game of Thrones-themed masterpiece performed during the 2016 Revlon Style Masters in Paris last month.
It’s the first major international Ambassadorship with a wetline supplier Steven has assumed, but he’s no stranger to the international scene. Days before he jetted off to Paris and the Expo Porte de Versailles, he was in Finland, producing an amazing one-man show for the Finnish Hairdressing Awards. He’s also a regular visitor to Russia, where crowds flock to see his elaborate showmanship on stage.
‘Finland was amazing with a great buzz, as it was me up on stage on my own. But the Revlon Style Masters in Paris was of a different order. I was there working with the team of 10 Revlon Professional Pro Masters, between us prepping beautiful models as part of a gorgeous Game of Thrones show. With an audience of 4,400, it was breath-taking,’ says Steven.
A master of the live competition circuit, Steven Smart has built a strong reputation as an outstanding stylist. His award-winning colouring skills and photographic work have earned him recognition across the globe. He was named World Champion from 2008 to 2010; won Creative Colour once and Trend Cut and Colour twice at Mondial Coiffure; was British Champion in 2003, then from 2005 to 2009; and was European Champion from 2005 to 2007 and 2007 to 2009. In 2015 he was once again a finalist in the BHA Wales and South West Hairdresser of the Year awards.
