LFW SS26: Rory Williams Docherty X Authentic Beauty Concept
Lead Hair Artist Richard Phillipart was inspired by stories of Aotearoa’s rugged coastline.
Rory William Docherty’s latest collection ‘THE TIDES’ is inspired by underwater glimpses of Aotearoa New Zealand’s rugged, ranging coastline. Wanting to echo the collection’s relaxed chic vibes of a life lived on the coastline throughout the hair, Richard designed a low slung ponytail featuring comb marks through the front as though it has been combed back straight after emerging from the ocean.
As the models turn their heads the direction of the comb marks sweeps down the head and blur together as the texture changes from wet look to dry and the movement changes from purposeful to organic as the hair drys.
Step By Step
~ All models had their hair prepared by cleansing and treating in Deep Cleansing Shampoo and Hydrating Jelly
Mask chosen to douse the hair with intense nourishment without weighing it down.
~ Hair was then coated liberally with Nynth Salt Spray and blasted dry without a nozzle to enhance natural texture and swell the cuticles.
~ Solid Pomade is applied to dry hair at the front, across the hairline and crown to separate and sculpt the hair using a wide tooth comb. Use traceless grips to hold the hair in place while styling.
~ The remaining hair is now sprayed with Strong Hairspray to enhance grip and tied tightly at the collar line with
elastic.
~ Indulging Fluid Lotion was then painted across the top of the pomade to give a glass like shine.
~ Curly hair had extra Hydrate Curl Enhancer for added moisture.
~ Finishing touches include using the Hydrating Smoothing Serum sprayed across the front and crown to enhance the water like shine as the models walked the runway.
