Leading hair and beauty salon in the North of Scotland, KAM Hair and Body Spa, were honoured to be asked to style the hair for neighbouring business, McClintocks of Lossie’s Eyewear Fashion Show to celebrate their third birthday.

Where

The Fashion Show took place at Marina Quay in Lossiemouth where clients of both businesses, friends and family members were invited along to enjoy the day and to be inspired to shop and support local.

Who

A number of local businesses were involved with the day, supplying products and services to support the event. KAM Hair and Body Spa were asked to style the hair for all models prior to the event, and also have some of the team involved as models too. Other local businesses involved included Harbour Lights who provided catering, ladies boutique, Unique Lossiemouth, and the red carpet was provided by Stotfield Hotel in Lossiemouth to give the event a touch of glamour.

The Hair

As models strutted the red-carpet showcasing a variety of stylish and colourful frames from McClintocks of Lossie, Karen Thomson at KAM was also on hand to help host the event with McClintocks of Lossie Owner, Amanda, discussing the hairstyling the KAM team done to the models hair as they strutted down the Lossiemouth Marina.

The Looks

Looks created included halo braids, intricate side braids, voluminous curls, soft waves with texture, swept back hair and low textured ponytails. Hair looks were created that would work well and compliment the glasses and glasses chains and that are easily wearable for those who wear glasses.

Autumn Hair Trends

Karen also discussed autumn hair at the event and how hair shades and tones are changing for the new season with everything warming up and having a more autumnal feel, with soft golden copper tones and reds being particularly popular. Karen mentioned it’s a great time of year for client’s to change their hair colour up and go richer or for blondes, go for more cool blonde or champagne tones for the season. Karen also discussed face shapes and how these are important for how you wear your hair cut and your hair colour and how at KAM they can help widen client’s cheekbones, narrow them or make the client’s face appear longer all with the amazing placement on colour, where you put it, and layers and how you add them to the cut for the client. Amanda at McClintocks then went on to relate this to eyewear and how choosing the best style for your face shape is so important, even if the style isn’t on trend.
