Last year’s Wella TrendVision award winners have been on a journey since they were crowned at the Camden RoundHouse in October 2013.
For the first time the four UK and Ireland winners are embarking on an intensive and inspiring mentoring programme with some of the industry’s most respected icons such as Darren Ambrose from D&J Ambrose, Akin Konizi from HOB Academy, Adam Reed from Percy & Reed and Jayson Gray from Toni&Guy.
“I’m extremely lucky to work at HOB Salons but having a full day under Akin’s guidance has provided me with a real insight into what makes a winning collection,” says TrendVision Award winner Sean Nolan from HOB Salons.
He was joined by fellow winner Lucy Tuck from Marc Antoni and Irish winner Shauna McGrath from House of Colour for their first two days of mentoring. The winning three met at the Wella World Studio London for a day with Darren Ambrose from D&J Ambrose followed by an inspirational day with Akin, current British Hairdresser of the Year.
While Darren helped the winners understand and be inspired by the world of Avant Garde hair, Akin gave them a real insight into how to produce a stand out photographic collection. “The mentoring programme is such a fantastic addition to the TrendVision Award UK and Ireland final. It’s inspired me and helped me step out of my comfort zone,” says Lucy.
