We wouldn’t dream of going in the sun without protection and we know to moisturise afterwards, but often forget to apply the same principles to our scalp and hair. Kieran Tudor is the Co-Founder of Centred (stocked in Selfridges and salons nationwide) and award-winning Hairdresser who’s worked with the likes of Victoria Beckham. “Protecting your scalp in the sun is just as essential as the rest of your skin, for the most part our scalps are protected by our hair, but when the scalp is exposed you need to pay more attention. Exposed scalp can be due to partings and thinning patches, and I’d always recommend trying to keep them covered in peak sunlight hours with a hat.

Top Tip
At the very least, apply a mist of Unwind Detangling Primer to hair and scalp before sun exposure. The vitamin enriched spritz with Vitamin E, Panthenol and Glycerin aids in moisture retention whilst adding a protective barrier against heat, sun damage and pollutants. Applying Unwind to damp hair before styling aids in detangling and protecting strands to help reduce breakage. By helping to seal the cuticle layer post-wash, Unwind also helps to prolong colour treated hair, retaining vibrancy and shine.
