F.A.M.E. Team 2019 Shortlist Announced
Following a huge amount of applications, 16 hairstylists from across the country have been shortlisted to go ahead and audition for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s F.A.M.E. Team 2019.
Finishing School
The F.A.M.E. Team is regarded as British hairdressing’s ultimate ‘finishing school’, providing an intensive year of education, opportunities and industry exposure. Previous members have included Chris Appleton, Errol Douglas MBE and Antoinette Beenders, to name just a few of the talented artists who have passed through the program.
The Year So Far
This year’s team are halfway through a year of incredible experiences with mentor Nick Irwin, which has so far included presenting live on stage to thousands of visitors at Hair Expo Australia, shooting with Rankin and learning from industry experts including Syd Hayes, Frank Apostolopoulos and Sam Burnett.
The Semi-Finals
With such an exciting year ahead, the audition process for a place on the team is competitive, and the 2019 wannabes will now go on to participate in semi-finals and finals over the coming months.
The semi-finals will take place in August, where budding team members will create two model looks – working together in teams to style and produce a 15 minute show – and present to a panel of judges. From here, eight finalists will be selected.
The Finals
The finals will take place at Salon International in October, where the shortlisted eight will be tasked with creating a hair up look on the Fellowship stage in front of an audience and judges. They will then be asked to present a short show, covering a model look and showcasing their own expertise, personality and industry achievements.
The Winners
The final successful four members of the 2019 F.A.M.E. Team will be unveiled at the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s annual Luncheon and Awards, which takes place at the Dorchester in London on Monday 3rd December.
