With autumn/winter just around the corner, the ClubStar Art Team members had an exclusive day with trendsetter and session stylist Jason Crozier. Jason, director of trend agency Croznest, spent time with the team going through spring/summer trends before giving them an exclusive preview of what to expect for the coming season.

Jason is the latest mentor to spend time with the Fellowship project teams – other mentors this year so far include barber Matt Gavin from Manifesto, Jamie Benny from Hare & Bone and award-winning Rick Roberts.

Designed to Inspire

Jason says his website Croznest.co.uk, which he set up 1o years ago, is designed to inspire, educate and motivate, said: “It’s so important to inspire the new generation of hairdressers, and to deliver this information to our clients and put it into our creative work. Sadly, the information is not always accessible, but through Croznest’s digital platform the information is.”

Trend Predictions

The team were treated to a session on the SS21 trends, before Jason moved on to an exclusive presentation of the AW21 trend predictions. As they took notes, Jason set them a challenge: create a hair creation from one of the key trend predictions and tag Croznest on social media, so he could see how they had been influenced by the trend predictions.

Taking Part

Karoliina Saunders, Project Leader, said: “We all take part in competitions and industry shows, so it’s amazing to have this information. The team should be thinking forward especially when we have our team presentation this year, as well being ready to share information with our clients”.

ClubStar member Jack Anthony: “I have just entered WellaTrend Vision and this information definitely helped me. Clients are asking all the time about trends, so it is great to have this information to share. It shows we are knowledgeable and experts in our field.” Member Darcey Clarke: “I don’t get chance to do a lot of fashion looks in the salon, so it was great to have a session like this.”

Next Generation

Jason added: “I’ve always believed that it’s so important for the industry that we do what we can to keep the next generation inspired, educated and motivated. Being a mentor with the Fellowship is the perfect way for me to deliver the educational content we create at CrozNest direct to the up and coming stars of the future. Giving them the tools and insights which they need to develop and explore the amazing industry that hairdressing is.”
