CHARITY WORK

CHARITY WORK
Rebecca Parker

The hair industry joined forces on Friday 30th June for the Helping Hairdressers Day challenge in aid of The Hairdressers’ Charity, over £5000 was raised on the day with more funds being donated after the event.

With a super simple theme of purple, salons, manufacturers, and industry influencers got creative and baked purple cakes, coloured their hair purple and turned up to work wearing purple – some even took it further with a hairdresser Let Lew from OneTwoSix Hair Studio shaving his hair on the day and raising over £800 for the cause. The salon team that raised the most was Bruce Low Hair who went all out to donate the salon profits from the day, team tip donations, and also held a customer drinks party with prize draw plus a Facebook Live auction to raise £1500 for the charity.

“We’re overwhelmed with the support from industry experts, hairdressers and businesses, who all came together to make this year’s the best yet. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who got involved this year, every single penny raised will go towards #HelpingHairdressersInNeed,” said David Drew President of The Hairdressers’ Charity.

Thanks also goes out all the salons and businesses who got involved this year including Richard Ward Hair & Metrospa, Harvey Luke, Jamie Stevens, Alan Howard, Sarai Hair & Beauty, Remi Cachet, SJ Forbes, The Gallery, The Stress Exchange, Fudge Professional, Siren Salon, Affinage, Rainbow Room, NHF, Saks Kingshill, Boki’s Hair, Sharon Malcolm, Ciente, Baileys Hair, Jason Liddiard, Akito, Wispers, Hair Advice Centre, and Leo Bancroft.
