Celebrate World Vegan Day With Us
As today is World Vegan Day, we caught up with a couple of brands to talk all things sustainability and the importance of brands going vegan. Here’s what they had to say.
IdHAIR: All About Sustainability
IdHAIR UK Educator, Lesley Stitt tells us; ‘At IdHAIR we are all about sustainability and doing even the smallest things to help the planet. Just a few months ago we launched our new IdHAIR Elements Xclusive range and the products have gone down a treat in the UK. Veganism and gluten intolerance is huge just now and at IdHAIR we wanted to create products that would incorporate this, therefore, made our new range vegan free, gluten free, sulphate free, paraben free and with non-allergen perfume, as well as using recyclable plastic for the packaging. We may be the last generation to do something to save the planet, so it’s extremely important to incorporate this into our products and make sure we’re thinking about future generation’.
The Ingredients
IdHAIR Elements Xclusive Care Range includes:
• Quartz/amethyst
• Argan oil
• Rice
• Blueberry
• Sunflower seeds
• Shea butter
The Benefits Of Vegan Products
‘There are so many benefits to using vegan hair products and if we all use vegan hair products it will really help the environment. Not only that, vegan hair products provide clients with healthier hair, as they are not full of chemicals and only use natural and organic ingredients. From repeated use of hair products with chemicals it can actually damage your hair, whereas organic and vegan products are good for your hair and will make it look and feel healthier and more beautiful. With natural, vegan hair products you also don’t need to worry about allergic reactions and skin irritation from chemicals in the products. Last and certainly not least, one of the most fantastic things about vegan hair products is that they are not tested on animals and are 100% cruelty free. As a nation we love animals and anything we can do to help, animal cruelty is so important’.
Crazy Color®: Crucial For The Environment
Crazy Color® Brand Ambassador and Owner of HIVE MCR, Patrick Marrow tells us; ‘One of the many reasons I love working with Crazy Color® as a brand is that their products are entirely vegan and cruelty free. I believe this is a crucial step that needs to be taken to achieve sustainability and reduce the harsh impact on our environment. The Crazy Color® range has absolutely no animal derived ingredients and this in turn means their products are largely free of any harsh chemicals. This has a direct impact on the hair and its health so not only are the Crazy Color® products kind to our planet, they are kind to the clients hair too which is incredible from a colouritsts point of view’.
Products Aren’t Compromised
‘The quality and intensity of the Crazy Color® products is not compromised in any way either as this is a common misconception when discussing vegan hair dyes. The Crazy Color® Semi-Permanent Hair Color Creams are vivid and highly pigmented, especially their most recent Neon collection which demonstrates how unnecessary animal derived ingredients can be in hair color’.
Go Vegan At Home
‘As Crazy Color® also have a fantastic range of take home hair care with their ‘Vibrant Shampoo’s’ in a range of different colours range and ‘Rainbow Care Deep Conditioner’, you can encourage clients to replicate this use of vegan products at home too. Again these are largely free from harsh chemicals and therefore kinder to their hair which acts as a brilliant USP and can have a positive impact on retail in your salon’.
