Aveda Guest Artist Jon Reyman of Spoke & Weal Salons led hair for the Naeem Khan Spring Summer 2024 show.

Playing a pivotal role in ensuring the hair styles paid homage to the Designer’s tribute to his Indian heritage. Jon and his team of Aveda Artists skilfully transformed the Designer’s elegant and editorial vision into reality, utilizing a carefully chosen array of Aveda’s high-performing vegan products to attain the desired intricate aesthetic.

Cultural Inspiration
“For this show, I aimed to create looks that not only complemented Naeem Khan’s cultural inspiration but also pushed the boundaries of elegance and editorial flair. Aveda’s products allowed us to sculpt these extraordinary looks with precision and grace,” said Jon.

To prepare the hair for this extraordinary runway moment, the Aveda Artist team utilized the Aveda Volumizing Tonic™ infusing the hair with strength and a solid foundation before skilfully blow-drying it. Hair was strategically sectioned into three parts, facilitating the creation of the sleek ponytails which were then braided. Small braids were added for detail and design to complete the look.

Products
Based on natural hair texture, either Aveda Nutriplenishtm Curl Gelee or Aveda Men Pureformance™ Firm Hold Gel were used, with both products applied meticulously to achieve an extreme sleekness on the top and sides. A final round of blow-drying aided by a diffuser set the style in place.

The finishing touch was Aveda Control Force Firm Hold Hairspray, adding not only the necessary hold but also brilliant shine that elevated the overall look.

For The Curls
For those models with Curly or Coily hair, the process was adapted to protect and hydrate the hair using Aveda Nutriplenish™ Leave In Conditioner and Aveda Botanical Repair™ Bond-Building Styling Creme. A flat iron was then used to create a smoother texture, ensuring the braids could be secured without altering the hair’s natural curl or coil.

The hair look was instrumental in bringing Naeem Khan’s Spring Summer 2024 show to life, where the fusion of Indian heritage and high fashion found its perfect expression in the exquisite hairstyles crafted with precision and artistry.
