To celebrate ALTERNA’s 25 year anniversary, Sabrina Dijkman, ALTERNA Ambassador and Joana Neves, Editorial Director at ALTERNA have created two beautiful special occasion hair looks, using products from ALTERNA’s two ranges – Caviar Anti-Aging and My Hair. My Canvas.

As the festive season quickly approaches, these styles are great for clients looking for unique, statement hair looks for their Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties. The two looks are very different with a more sculpted dressed look and for those who prefer their dressed hair to look effortlessly chic, there is a beautiful braid.

Caviar Anti-Aging Multiplying Volume Styling Mist and Caviar Professional Styling Working Hairspray takes centre stage in the product list for both of these looks, ensuring volume and hold are achieved within the finish – something we all lust after when it comes to creating the perfect special occasion hair.

Look 1. Couture Crown by Joana Neves, Editorial Director at ALTERNA

1. Spray Caviar Anti-Aging Multiplying Volume Styling Mist from roots to ends to create volume and hold at the roots

2. Brush the hair upwards to the crown using a round paddle brush and a hairdryer with nozzle for more volume and body

3. Use a straightening iron and comb to go over the hair and to give it a smooth, polished finish

4. Use My Hair. My Canvas. City Slay Shielding and Caviar Anti-Aging Professional Styling Working Hairspray and spray into sections of the hair, pulling up as if you were putting the hair into a ponytail – use the sprays in rotation to help balance the grip

5. Spray Caviar Anti-Aging Professional Styling Working Hairspray and comb back the hair to get a beautiful clean result, securing with an elastic to create a tight ponytail

6. Go back over the hair going into the ponytail with a comb and secure with hair clips to ensure a sleek finish with little to no flyaways

7. Use a hair net to protect the geisha padding and wrap it around the ponytail before pinning into place

8. Split the ponytail into 4 sections and clip them with section clips

9. Bend each section from the top using a 25 mm curling iron

10. Curl the remainder of the hair in each section before using pins to secure the top of the section into place on the padding

11. Fold sections into S-Shape and fix each part of the S-sections with a clip. Continue until all sections are folded spraying the hair with hairspray to lock in place as you go and provide high shine

12. Take 2 pieces of extensions and pin them on the left hand side underneath one of the S-shapes before securing with hair pins

13. Cut the extensions bluntly with one extension around 3cm shorter in length

14. Use Caviar Anti-Aging Professional Styling Working Hairspray to lock the style in place.
