Fellowship Project Extend and Project Afro Round Up
It’s been a busy start to the month for the Fellowship Project Teams as Project Extend spent their day with Award Winning Hairdresser, Anne Veck, and Project Afro spent their day with Project Leader, Jacqui McIntosh at Hair 305.
Project Extend
The team travelled to Nashwhite in Warwick to spend the day with Award Winning Hairdresser Anne Veck. Anne is on a mission to make hairdressing more sustainable, diverse, and artistic.
Anne took the team back to when she participated in the worldwide Hair Tour, a spectacular show organised by Davines. The team explored how to interpret mood boards and how to collaborate with others to bring someone else’s vision to life. The team also unlocked the secret of visual storytelling, being shown how to decode the meanings behind commercial, editorial, and avant-garde images. The afternoon was all about getting ‘hands-in’ techniques hair stitching, braiding, and adding hair!
Watch + Learn
“Really inspiring day seeing how Anne creates her iconic looks. Watching and learning hair stitching, braiding, adding hair and how to create looks from a brief will be so helpful towards our photoshoot and stage work later in the year!” – Jade Miles.
See + Try
“What a fantastic day with Anne Veck! Getting to see some of her amazing show work and getting to see and try out some of her incredible techniques and great ideas for our show work! Really inspiring day” – Rebecca Mills.
“I loved sharing my passion with like-minded Artists, I had a fab day”.- Anne Veck.

Project Afro
They travelled to Hair 305 in Kensington to perfect their smoothing and straightening techniques, going through the fundamentals of heat or chemical arranging of Afro Hair with Project Afro Leader, Jacqui McIntosh.
Salon 305
“It was good to learn how important a salon layout is in relation to the ventilation & air flow. We then went through the importance of a thorough Client consultation, the needs of a person sitting in your chair. Their habits, lifestyle, their products choices. Asking the right questions will eliminate any doubt and lead to the right choices of products. Do not jump to conclusions, observe the hair, it will tell you. A usage of the same product differs from client to client. Product activation may also differ on the curl frequency of the client’s hair. Thank you for our session and letting us use the amazingly equipped Salon 305. We all had the opportunity to get our hands wet and work. Even Caroline, my model, told me later how much she’s enjoyed and learnt a lot about her own hair,”- Natasha Brajovic.
