The Fellowship Project Team’s February Round-Up

The Fellowship Project Team’s February Round-Up
Sam Robinson

During February The Fellowship Project Teams have come together to learn, create and experience something new.

Project Men and Media spent their day with their day with Project Leader and Wahl’s Global Artistic Director, Simon Shaw, at the Wahl Academy where they were pushed out of their comfort zone, pushing themselves to their fullest potential. The day gave the team an insight into what’s in store for them over the next year, as well as touching up on stage work and presenting in front of people.

Progression
“The presentation day with Simon was one of the most challenging but rewarding days I’ve ever done. I’ve still got a long way to go but I’m feeling much more confident with presenting in front of people. I can’t wait to see the progression I make this year with him, Alan and the team,”- Megan Brand.

Curl Power
The Project Colour Team travelled to Russell Eaton in Leeds to spend their first team day with International Educator & Colour Expert, Carolyn Newman. The theme of the day was ‘Curl Power’ with a focus on colouring curly and textured hair. Carolyn shared her expertise with the team, as they explored the different curl types and why colouring curls requires a different approach.

Valuable Knowledge
“Carolyn’s curl power education was an amazing experience. The knowledge and technique’s we learned was a real light bulb moment. We have walked away with clear valuable knowledge, creating confidence in working with all textures of hair and curl patterns,”- Kelly Evans.

New Techniques
“The day with Carolyn was amazing! It was so inspiring learning a new technique from someone who is so passionate about what they do, working with different textures is always something I’ve put off. But now I feel confident in using it in the salon on clients! I can’t wait to explore what she taught us in an alternative way being commercial but also being able to adjust it in a creative way,”- Kara Sanderson.

Jacqui guided the team through the techniques of working on how to smooth textured hair and which products to use. Whilst working on live models, she explained how to work with the elasticity of the hair and how to identify different curl patterns.

Educating To Inspire
“First day with Jacqui and I now understand the technique to smooth textured hair and most importantly achieve a long-lasting result – her way of educating is inspiring I can’t wait for more,”- Natasha Brajovic.
