Craig Chapman recently helped 9-year-old Izabel McDonell carry out an incredibly brave task; cutting a whopping 11 inches off her super long hair in order to be donated to the Little Princess Trust and made into a wig for children suffering from hair loss. All organised by Izabel herself, and in front of a crowd in Launceston town square, she’s already beaten her target of £1000!

Izabel’s parents, Luke and Kerry, said: “It started when Izabel’s great grandma found out she had cancer, it hit the family hard and Izabel wanted to help, but being 9 years old there wasn’t a lot she could do. With the illness getting worse and wanting to do something before she passed away, Izabel got on the Internet and researched things she could do raise money. She decided the best thing she could do to help was to raise as much money as she could and to have her hair cut off so that the girls who need it can enjoy it! She completely took this on herself and we’re so proud of her – this will help shape the lady she’ll grow into as she wants to be a charity worker when she grows up!”

“Thank you so much to Craig, I love my new hair and I hope my old hair and all the money I got will make all the little girls who need it happy”, added Izabel.

The Little Princess Trust was launched in 2006 and has since helped over 2,700 girls and boys across the UK and Ireland suffering with different types of hair loss conditions including cancer and alopecia.

“I am totally honoured to have helped this inspiring young lady raise over £1300, what a little superstar – the whole family should be extremely proud of her!”, said Craig.

Izabel has raised an incredible £1378.88 so far for the Little Princess Trust, and if anyone would like to donate further then please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Kerry-holland
