5 Summer Hair Colour Trends Set to Dominate in 2025
From burnt peach, to honeycomb blonde, Gem Schwartz, Founder of Taylor Rose Hair shares the 5 summer hair shades set to make a statement this summer.
As a stylist, I’m seeing more women coming into the salon craving softness, ease and subtle radiance. They don’t necessarily want to look completely different, they do want to still look like themselves but more radiant. Colours that don’t scream but still turn heads. These trends are sunlit and expressive but still subtle.
These five shades are what I’m calling soft power colours. They’re beautiful without being loud and without being high effort.
Rosewater Pink
Pink is having another moment, but this time it’s less Barbie, more blush toned poetry. Rosewater pink is for the client who wants to play without going full neon as it’s a delicate, soft pink with a cool undertone that fades out like watercolour so you don’t have to constantly be refreshing the colour. This works beautifully over blonde or pre lightened hair and it wears in a way that feels chic, not childish. Best of all, it fades into a soft rose gold meaning you get multiple phases of pretty without a drastic grow out. Tip – Use a rose pigmented conditioner weekly to freshen up the tone without having to visit the salon.
Peekaboo highlights
Hidden colour is back and it’s quieter, more elegant and even more fun. Peekaboo highlights are soft pops of colour hidden just under the top layer of hair. They peek through when you move or tuck your hair, like a secret you chose to tell. Whether it’s platinum under dark hair or coral beneath caramel, this is an easy way to express individuality without committing to a full transformation.
Tip – Ask your stylist for under layer panels behind the ears or under the crown, this keeps the placement subtle.
Honeycomb Blonde
Not quite blonde yet not quite brunette. This rich, honey dripped colour melts from a deeper root into golden, apricot kissed ends. Honeycomb blonde is all about warmth and wearability. It’s for clients who want that glow without the high maintenance that bright blondes require. It brings out warmth in the skin and gives natural brunettes an easy path to the blonde life without the bleach stress.
Tip – Book a toner every six weeks to keep it golden, not brassy.
Burnt Peach
This is summer’s most unexpected colour crush and one of my favourites. Burnt Peach is where copper, pink and gold meet. It’s smouldering, flattering and way more wearable than people think. I love how this colour makes green and blue eyes literally pop. The ultimate perfect summer shade. It suits a wide range of skin tones and feels ethereal. If you’ve ever wanted to try red hair without going full auburn, this is your shade.
Tip – Protect your tone by skipping heat tools or using a copper safe colour shield spray.
Champagne Blonde
A grown up blonde that sits perfectly between creamy and cool. Think polished Parisian and just undone enough. Champagne Blonde is for the client who wants their hair to look expensive. This is a feminine, dreamy, soft focus colour that pulls you in gently. Unlike platinum blondes that can sometimes feel a little harsh, this version of blonde uses soft lowlights to add light catching dimension.
Tip – Ask for a beige tone, not ash for that soft focus effect.
