Internationally recognised hairdresser Jamilla Paul is set to fly the flag for high-end UK hairdressing in the Middle East with her appointment as International VIP Hair Artist at in the United Arab Emirates’ most prestigious salon.
Jamilla will be making regular trips to Glamour Hair Salon in Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s capital. Balancing her time between her new role and running her own two highly successful salons in Greater Manchester, she will be travelling with a team of top colour technicians and makeup artists, providing a full range of hair and beauty services, including upmarket wedding packages for Glamour’s list of elite clients.
Jamilla’s appointment comes after Glamour’s owner Rita Bains invited her to the UAE to train her staff in the ultra-glamourous looks for which Jamilla is renowned. Jamilla travelled to the salon in July, and so impressed the Glamour team that Rita asked if she was interested in making the arrangement more formal.
Rita said: “I’d been a fan of Jamilla and her high-glamour values for ages. I knew the kind of styling she specialises in would be incredibly popular in the UAE, so I asked her if she’d be willing to come and share some of her techniques with my team. She came over and was an immediate hit with our team and our clients. Now we are all really looking forward to having her on board.”
Jamilla said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity, not just for me, but for British hairdressing in general.”
