Winchmores Hair & Beauty goes PINK
Great Lengths certified salon Winchmores Hair & Beauty have dedicated the month of October to their #WINCHMORESWEARITPINK campaign to raise funds and create conversation to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With an original target of £500, Winchmores, their dedicated team and their willing and generous clients managed to double their target raising a grand total of £1,200 which will go directly to Breast Cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.
How Did They Do It?
Throughout October, Winchmores encouraged clients to have a single pink Great Lengths bond applied. With each bond a £5 donation was required to support Breast Cancer Now. Salon Manager, Melissa Shannon comments, “We have many clients, friends and family who have been affected by Breast Cancer. Although Coronavirus is at the forefront of our minds, we did not want to let this affect the very important fundraising efforts that are helping to treat and eradicate the many other illnesses we face as a society. Our hope was that a single pink strand would start the conversation and remind as many people as possible how important it is to regularly check their breasts”.
CEO for Great Lengths UK & Ireland, Joscelin McCourt comments on the campaign “We are often impressed by the incredible work our salons deliver all year, but the #WINCHMORESWEARITPINK campaign in October from Winchmores Hair & Beauty really stood out to us. It’s such a simple yet very powerful way to get involved and the response from their clients speaks for itself. By more than doubling their own target this is a huge achievement that Melissa and the team should
be very proud of”.
Clients, regular and new, old and young were keen to support and are now showing off proudly their pink strands. Clients also comment on the #WINCHMORESWEARITPINK campaign, “As soon as I knew Winchmores were supporting Breast Cancer Now I knew I had to get involved… After losing my mum to breast cancer 5 years ago it’s a charity very close to my heart. Having a pink strand in my hair was a beautiful way to wear it pink… and remember my beautiful mum!” – Joanne Porter
“Pink hair for a good cause? What’s not to like? I love that my favourite salon always thinks of such fabulous and innovative ideas to support charities. All for a good cause and to help their clients feel good at the same time too! Clever, caring and I feel good! So happy to be involved!” – Donna Francis.
