Below, Miles offers invaluable tips and insights into how to achieve this look, and why it’s perfect for anyone looking to tap into the Oasis-inspired style.
Revival of the Mod Cut “As the excitement builds around the potential Oasis reunion, it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see the 90s mod haircut making a strong comeback. This style is timeless and versatile, especially as we head into Autumn 2025. The beauty of the mod cut is its adaptability—it can be tailored to suit different lengths and textures, making it a great choice for anyone wanting to tap into that iconic look with a modern twist. Just remember, communication with your Barber is key to nailing the style.

What is a Mod Cut?
A traditional mod cut originated in the 60s and is coming back stronger than ever. It is normally a shorter scissor cut on the sides with a straight fringe and volume up top. There are a lot of different variations to mod cuts in terms of length and texture though, so you can always tailor it to your needs.

What should you say to your Barber to achieve the look?
I think you should bring pictures with you of mod styles you like, we love having pictures because we can really dig into the details of what you like/dislike about certain cuts. Also make sure you’re 100% happy with the plan before any cutting starts as it’s very hard to put hair back on after it’s off.

For Naturally Wavy, Textured Hair
Apply Textured Hair Cream (£24) to damp hair, allowing it to dry naturally. In some cases, from here you should be good to go. If your hair is finer, swap the cream with Sea Salt Volume Mousse (£20.50), then define and separate the hair with Matt Mud (£19) for ultimate thickness and texture. It’s important to use the right products to maintain and style a mod cut. Murdock London’s Sea Salt Spray (£20.50) is perfect for adding texture and volume, ensuring the look stays sharp and fresh all day.
