In this role, Andrew will shine a much-needed spotlight on the UK’s world-class wig industry.
Published:“I’m absolutely thrilled to take on this new role with the HBSA. The work of UK wig specialists is incredibly moving and inspiring – it’s about so much more than hair. These professionals help restore a sense of self during incredibly tough times, and I’m determined to give their work the visibility and respect it truly deserves,” – Andrew Barton.
As HBSA Wig Industry Ambassador, Andrew will help raise awareness of the outstanding work of UK wig makers and suppliers, many of whom are small businesses delivering essential services to thousands of individuals undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy, alopecia, and other hair loss conditions. With a market worth over £5 million, this sector is built on compassion, craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to improving lives.
“At the HBSA, we fully support our wig suppliers and makers to promote the best standards and services for their clients, but often they are a part of the industry who are forgotten. They are some of the most passionate people, who give amazing service to their clients. That’s why we’re so pleased that Andrew – who is already heavily involved in the Little Princess Trust – is now the HBSA Wig Industry Ambassador. Wig suppliers are the unsung heroes, often there for their clients during the most difficult time in their lives. An important part of our work is also with the NHS Supply Chain, sharing common goals to deliver excellent service and products – something that’s absolutely critical to this industry,”
– Stephanie Bruce, General Manager, HBSA.

Made for all hair types including fine, fragile, thick, curls, coils, children, men, and hair extension wearers, care is in MANTA’s DNA. The MANTA Healthy Hair Brush was designed by Professional hairdresser Tim Binnington to help boost his wife’s confidence whilst undergoing cancer treatment.
As Dani Binnington went through cancer treatment, she lost all her hair—a challenging and emotional experience for anyone. When it began to grow back, her husband, Tim, noticed the breakage that a traditional hairbrush causes. He dedicated two years to research and development, creating a brush which would flex and move with the hair, minimising breakage while offering a soothing, self-care experience—much like running your fingers through your hair.

“Tim and Dani Binnington connected with The Little Princess Trust through their innovative creation, the MANTA Healthy Hair Brush. Their brushes are now an essential part of the charity’s wig care boxes, supporting nearly 2,000 young people with hair loss each year.” – Little Princess Trust.
Celebrating their 20th Anniversary, The Little Princess Trust has helped to restore the confidence and identity of more than 17,000 young people, up to the age of 24, by providing them with a real hair wig.
The Little Princess Trust has also given more than £20million to researchers focussed on finding kinder and more effective treatments for all childhood cancers. Manta continues to support by donating a total of 8620 brushes to the Little Princess Trust with a retail value of £229,130.
