SS26: R+Co & Karoliina Saunders X VIN + OMI
Inspired by the concept of dysphoria—dysfunction and distress in the world today.
“It’s hard to produce a fashion show that’s light and fluffy when most people are experiencing dysphoria. We are all wading through political treacle at the moment. Treacle produced by the intensity of global wars and UK’s growing problems; it’s an unreal time” – VIN + OMI.
After partnering with VIN + OMI for their KAOS show in February 2025, R+Co and Guest Artist Karoliina Saunders were back for a second season, this time for VIN + OMI’s Dysphoriana show at London Fashion Week.
Massive 60 models walked the runway, including Dame Prue Leith, Jane Moore, Jo Wood, Telegraph Royal Correspondent India McTaggart, and Raffey Beany, son of Sarah Beany and member of The Entitled Sons, Karoliina and her 30 strong team created the two main looks.
“Hair embodied the spirit of the collection: messy, distressed, and explosively sculptural, reflecting the mood and energy of the world we live in today,” – Karoliina.
Two Main Looks
1) Messy Beehive
Dishevelled and worn with references from RuPaul’s Drag Race, designed to feel imperfect and distressed.
2) Explosive Hair:
Capturing the sense of dysfunction in a dramatic way, hair looked as though it had exploded from the scalp.
“We worked mainly with donated, synthetic wigs, which added a real challenge, and I kept the styling stripped back and raw. The looks were created using just three products: R+Co Skylinefor grit and texture, R+Co Vicious for hold, and R+Co Rockaway Sea Salt Spray through the ends to create a spindly, worn-out finish,”
– Karoliina.
