Award-winning and internationally renowned hairstylist Johanna Cree Brown, known for her high-end editorial and Avant Garde style recently worked her magic for the cover stars of the prestigious metal magazine.

Using INDOLA products, Johanna crafted intricate looks for the one and only Singer-Songwriter Jessie Ware. With the care and styling range of INDOLA  products as her kit, Johanna created two looks, transforming Jessie’s tresses into a captivating work of art.

The Inspiration
Taking reference from Fashion Photographer Richard Avedon, his work in the late 1960s and early 70s, and in particular one of the models of time Verushka, I created bespoke hair looks for Jessie. ‘The beauty of movement and graphic design, drew me in, imagining jessie elevating the look and making it her own’ – says Johanna.

Prior to the shoot, Johanna Cree Brown meticulously executed an extensive hair prep routine so the looks could be built and perfected on the day. Each hair look was prepped and finished using INDOLA.

Get the Look: Pony Tail

• The hair was prepped with INDOLA Volume and Blow-Dry Spray and then blow-dried super sleek with a bristle brush.
• The hair was then brushed up tightly into a high pony tail and all edges were smoothed with the INDOLA Act Now! Non-Aerosol Fixation Spray.
• Any flyaway edges were smoothed with the INDOLA Shine Wax.
• The ponytail was then sprayed with the INDOLA Thermal Protector and then flat ironed with the straighteners.

Get The Look: Braided Hair Up Do

• For this look the hair was prepped again using the INDOLA Volume and Blow-Dry Spray.
• The hair and braids were built up section by section and fixed in place with the INDOLA Flexible Hair Spray and the Texture Spray to ensure the hair had some grit with the hold.
• To finish the look the INDOLA Glamorous Oil was used to smooth and add shine.

Commenting on her INDOLA kit, Johanna said: INDOLA products have fabulous hold, while lightweight in the hair, enabling seamless product layering which was essential in building the looks for Jessie on set.

Johanna’s work with metal magazine once again proved her status as a trailblazer in the realm of hairstyling, leaving a lasting impression on the fashion and hair industry.
