June was a jam-packed month already for the Fellowship Project Teams, and it only got busier with their appearances at HAIRCON!

Project Colour spent their day with Sassoon Academy’s Senior Colour Director, Caroline Spencer at the House of Sassoon in London. Project X travelled to Mash Creative Studio in London to spend their day with Junior Green. Project Extend spent their day with Craig Chapman creating looks with hair pieces and wigs.

House of Sassoon
Project Colour spent the day at the House of Sassoon, with Caroline Spencer Senior Colour Director of the London Sassoon Academy. Caroline leads the innovative team, contributing colour ideas for the seasonal collections as well as being involved in new colour course developments, updates and working tirelessly on the standardisation of the Sassoon teaching methods.

For over twenty years Caroline has travelled internationally, demonstrating her technical prowess in precision colouring, accurate placement, and peerless technique. Caroline’s true passion in colour is suitability, and that any technique, application and colour choice should consider and reflect the individual wearer. Caroline spent the morning with an introduction to Sassoon followed by a practical demo. The team then spent the rest of the day practicing the new techniques.

Colour Patterns
“Our day at Sassoon with the lovely Caroline Spencer was amazing. We watched a fab demo using colour patterns on a flower as inspiration. For our practical Caroline had us really pushing our creativity with different sectioning patterns and colour mixtures, working with a range of depths and tones to create a bespoke colour look. It was a brilliant day which I took so much from!,” – Kerry Bywater.

Mash Creative Studios x Junior Green
Project X travelled to Mash Creative Studios in London to spend the day with Award Winning Hairdresser Junior Green who presented a Masterclass on Silk Press. Junior provided a demo in the morning and in the afternoon the team worked in pairs on their models. He is recognised as a formidable force on the UK hairdressing scene and, during a career spanning 34 years, he has received several accolades which include British Afro Hairdresser of the Year, Stylist of the Year and was part of the Styling Team of the Year. As a triple winner in each of these categories, Junior has received one of the highest accolades in hairdressing, being inducted into the Black Beauty/Sensational Hall of Fame. Winning your category three times propels you into the Hall of Fame… and Junior Green has earned this prestigious honour four times!

Silk Wrapping

Mash Creative Studio x Craig Chapman
Project Extend spent their day at Mash Creative Studio with Craig Chapman. As a Salon Owner of 30 years and an agency represented Session Stylist and Educator, Craig has gained a diverse skill set enabling myself to travel the globe, represent brands on stage, editorial and beauty campaigns, a long list of prime time TV shows and music videos as well as caring for clients; including A-list guests at Cannes Film Festival, the Emmys, Broadway, concerts, press junkets and backstage at London Fashion Week.

Craig created a ‘fun’ day for the team, learning about working in TV and the quick turnaround times required in this fast-paced world, together with making hair pieces.
