Collections To Inspire: Kartee M Salon
Hair by Tee Munusamy. KARTEE M SALON, Colliers Wood.
The inspiration of this capsule collection came from the X Men film series, but with particular emphasis on the characters Magneto, who is a powerful mutant, and Wolverine, who displays powerful physical capabilities. Clearly taking these inspirations from male characters and translating an adaption for women’s hair.
Magneto Character
To create these looks I used Davines Century of light with 20vol, on, Mind length to end use, left to develop for 40min also applying the same formula Century of light on the roots left to develop for 25min. Wash with one shampoo with Davines MINU Colour Shampoo and Davines toner 10/21 plus 5% developer left it for 10min and then shampoo and Davines Circle treatment.
The styling engaged a technique that I’d learnt that involved a metal hanger to achieve the anti gravity perplex I wanted to achieve. Crafting the hair to look like a fitted helmet, I spotted the hanger on set, and knew that together with straighteners and it I could achieve exactly what I wanted!
Wolverine Character
Hair colour is the other with full head Davines Century of Light with 20vol left to develop for 45min – Wash and shampooed then toned with 9/11 plus 5% developer to achieve Vanilla Blonde. Styling the model, the inspiration suggests a mixed texture look, with spotlights of enhanced texture in areas of the style.
Shot in black and white by design, this was to emphasis both the sleekness of one look and the texture of the other.
