Birmingham Salon Owner Chops 10 Inch Long Locks For Charity
After caring for the locks of thousands of clients over the past 13 years, Hazel & Haydn salon owner, Dale Hollinshead took a seat in the chair to go for a big charity chop. He’s donating ten inches of hair to The Little Princess Trust and raising over £1,000 for Breast Cancer Haven.
After receiving the devastating news that two close friends had been diagnosed with different forms of cancer, Dale was inspired to raise money for relevant charities and decided to cut his hair, which he’d been growing for three years. Dale said, “The outstanding tailored support these charities offer, and the differences they make to peoples lives, make three years of growing out my hair totally worth it. I am so proud to be able to help such worthwhile charities doing great work both nationally and in my local community.”
Dale’s hair will be used by The Little Princess Trust to create human hair wigs for children and young adults who have lost hair due to cancer or other illnesses. The Little Princess Trust also funds research into children’s cancers. Breast Cancer Haven have six centres across the England, offering help and guidance to women and their families effected by breast cancer. Every penny of the money Dale raised will be put towards a new centre in Solihull, providing huge support for women in the region.
Dale is still collecting so anyone wanting to make a donation can do so here.
