What is the inspiration behind the hair look today? Why was this the chosen look?
The inspiration is a very chic elegant yet nonchalant hairstyle that nods towards fashion illustration. It’s a hairstyle that works perfectly with the proportions of the clothing.
How did you work with Victoria to create the hair look for the AW23 show?
Victoria knows her stuff! She wanted her woman this season to ultimately feel effortless but needed a hairstyle that would work well with the proportions of the collection. She spoke about the hairstyle feeling home made and organic and relatable to the everyday person.
What ghd tools/product have been used and why have you chosen them?
We used the ghd Duet Style 2-in-1 Hot Air Styler to achieve a smooth shape on top, and the ghd Unplugged Styler on the ends to give a natural yet more defined finish. We then we used ghd Sleek Talker to promote the look of healthy, glossy, shiny hair.
What are your top tips for re-creating this look at home?
To get this look at home, try just using your hands and fingers, not a brush, to achieve the organic feel of the hairstyle. With a touch of the ghd Sleek Talker on your fingers, rake through your hair and enjoy the happy little mistakes that happen, which go far to create personality within the hairstyle. Use a length of elastic instead of a hair band to tie the hand, you may need a second pair of hands to help but the tying the pony with elastic will ensure that the tension is always tight and this sleek chic pony won’t come loose!
Step by steps on how to create this look
- Start with a heat protection spray such as ghd Bodyguard which is misted onto damp hair, the create a neat centre parting using the ghd Tail Comb.
- Next, work through the hair with the ghd Duet Style which works on damp hair, drying the hair in sections.
- Once hair is dry distribute two pumps of ghd Sleek Talker all over the hands, so it gets evenly distributed through the hair, and brush the hair back away from the face, using ghd Perfect
- Ending lightly as you go to smooth out baby hairs.Tie a length of elastic (around 5 inches) around the pony at the nape of the necksecuring with a knot.
- Then add a bend to the hair using ghd Unplugged Styler on small sections, holding the hair on the iron very briefly, not to create a curl, but a loose wave.
- Finish with ghd Perfect Ending Hairspray.
