On Monday 10th October at Salon International, Denman’s Stage Star Finalists took to the HJ Stage to compete for the title and win a career transforming year of perks and opportunities. This year the Stage Star UK finalists were joined by the very first Stage Star USA winner. USA Stage Star Winner, Eric Wright of Eric Marshall Salon flew in from Nashville, Tennessee to compete. Eric was joined by UK finalists Freelance Stylist Emma Dixon, Tia Gentles of Wispers Hair and Kirsty Innes of Salon Studio 2 in Aberdeen.

Judging

The finalists were asked to present on stage and showcase their skills to a live audience and a panel of judges including Charlotte Grant-West, Editor of Hairdressers Journal, iconic hair duo Gary Hooker and Michael Young, Denman Ambassador Georgia Bell and Denman Ambassador Brandon Messinger. Each of the competitors shook off their nerves and wowed the crowd with their skills, product knowledge and confident presentation. However, there can only be one winner and after much deliberation from the judges Tia Gentles took the title. Tia’s high impact communication, connection to the audience and beautiful model presentation ensured her win.

The Winner

Tia will now receive a dedicated photographic collection shoot with the super talented Desmond Murray, a full year of education and creative guidance from world leading academy Allilon plus one-to-one sessions with a host of Denman Ambassadors! Over the course of the next 12 months the winner will have the opportunity to work with the Denman team on their creative shoots, attend prestigious industry events and gala dinners, work on product development and of course receive a comprehensive set of all Denman products and tools!

Year Ahead

Tia said “What an incredible experience. I never imagined I might actually win! I couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead. I would really like to enter the BHA’s like the previous winner and I am so looking forward to learning more and building my confidence and experience!”
