PATRICK CAMERON’S BIG REVEAL
Viewers of Patrick Cameron’s regular Instagram and Facebook Monday night “Education in Isolation” session were treated to a surprise big reveal this week.
Inspiring Looks
The session started with Patrick showing how to create two effortless and inspiring looks on his mannequins. As he finished his 2nd style he started to talk about his own hair. He explained that at the beginning of his career he was recognised for his long curly hair. “It became my trademark” he said. 15 years ago, when he had his hair cut short it created quite a sensation.
Going Natural
Now facing the dilemma that many clients do, of having to colour his hair and the constant root touch-ups he had decided to grow out his colour and embrace his natural look. His trademark brown curls were being replaced with white strands and it was quite a contrast. Whilst he was making up his mind what to do, he bought a wig, coloured, and styled it to match his own hair and wore this without anyone knowing for quite some time.
When he got to the stage where there was almost more white hair than coloured hair he decided to enlist the help of his Creative Director, Marco Erbi to give him a new look. Short haircut complete, there was still some colour on the ends, and this didn’t look good at all. Patrick and Marco approached it like they would with any client and over several sessions gently cleansed out the remaining colour using Wella Blondor Multi Blonde and then toned with Wella Colour Fresh in Pearl Blonde.
New Look
Patrick revealed his new look to the surprised audience on Monday evening’s live session – comments came in immediately and all were positive – his viewers absolutely loved his new look. “My hair was getting whiter and whiter,” said Patrick.” After only a few days the white line would begin to show, and I decided to see what it would look like, and I’m absolutely delighted as to how it’s turned out.” “It’s been a very long time since I’ve had hair as short as this and I’m loving it, combined with my natural colour it’s worked out so well.” “No more root touch-ups but I’m now exploring the Wella True Grey range of semi-permanent colours”.
