Q Hair & Beauty: Teamed up for Top Class Training
Q Hair and Beauty, Chichester’s multi award winning salon, has taken a pioneering step forward in providing excellent training for the next local generation of beauty therapists and technicians.
In partnership with Rewards Hair & Beauty Academy it has opened a new concept beauty academy at its Donnington branch and has just been accredited by City & Guilds to deliver Level 2 Apprenticeship Diploma for Beauty Professionals.
Wednesdays
Operating every Wednesday, the academy offers all aspects of beauty education and as students complete training on any treatment, they are integrated into the salon environment to increase both their skills and confidence with both clientele and a wide range of therapies. At the end of their course, they take their End Point Assessment and will then be salon ready, armed with valuable and real experience.
Elite Standard
Apprenticeships at the Q Hair and Beauty academy offer education to an elite standard in an active working salon, providing the ideal environment for students to grow and develop their skills while building confidence in themselves and their ability for a future career in the beauty industry.
Unique Ability
“We are thrilled to be working in partnership with the Rewards Hair & Beauty Academy, giving us the unique ability to grow our own team and create and replicate exactly what we provide for our future hairdressers,” says Dawn Lawrence, chief executive of the Q Hair and Beauty Group.
Future-Proof
“Our aim is to create a future-proof business model and gain a strong reputation in West Sussex for education within the beauty industry – training the next generation and ensuring continuing excellence in our salons and community.”
Impressive Background
Sue Cassidy, Beauty Education & Development Manager, has an impressive background
which makes her ideal for the important role. “After qualifying I worked in a salon for eight years and then moved into lecturing at Chichester College,” she says. “I was taken on to introduce NVQ and continual assessment to Northbrook College, Worthing and then progressed to providing training on beauty equipment for a local company where I was also involved with research and development of
both beauty therapy equipment and products. Within that role I also provided continual professional development for lecturers and still maintain that close association within the industry.
“I believe that to educate within a real salon environment has to be the most beneficial way forward for both student and salon so I am very excited about this new opportunity that Dawn and I have worked very hard to achieve with the Q Hair and Beauty Academy.”
Open Day
An Open Day will be held at Q’s flagship salon in North Street, Chichester, on Tuesday 27th July from 10am, for anyone considering a career in beauty. The team will be available to talk through any questions together with apprentices to demonstrate what they have learnt and their experience.
