Organic Colour Systems Present Colour Project Day with Karine Jackson

Organic Colour Systems Present Colour Project Day with Karine Jackson
Fiona Ward

On August 8th, the Colour Project made a visit to the heart of the New Forest, home of professional natural and organic based salon professional hair colour brand Organic Colour Systems.

Organic Colour System Ambassador and Chancellor for the Fellowship for British Hairdressing Karine Jackson demonstrated new techniques whilst also educating the Colour Project Team on why she uses Organic Colour Systems, and showed how to adapt her personal collections to make them more commercial and achievable in salon. “I’m trying to get rid of the hippydippy conception of natural and organic based colour,” she said. “It isn’t! It’s just as good as any other brand if not better! It does everything that it says on the box and there are a full range of fashion colours as well.”

She demonstrated the Saturn technique for her Juxtaposition collection, using Perspex sheets to paint on colour free hand and also the Swirl technique from the current Blueshift Collection, which involved alternating colour to form a swirl pattern from the crown.

Herb UK Ltd, parent company of Organic Colour Systems, operates one of the last, if not the last existing hair colour factory that still manufactures here in the UK. The Colour Project team were treated to a tour around the factory, where they got an insight to the product manufacture process and learnt about the quality and sourcing of ingredients used to make the Organic Colour Systems colour and care products.

After being filled with inspiration from Karine Jackson and seeing where the products were made, the Colour Project Team then got the chance to mirror some of the skills learnt in the morning on their own models using Organic Colour Systems.

A successful day of new skills, education and most importantly good hair! Organic Colour Systems were happy to host this Colour Project Day in support of The Fellowship for British Hairdressing. “What a great team! All of them have been really enthusiastic, they’ve all wanted to know everything about everything, they’re all happy to step out of the box and try new things,” said Karine.
