Blog: Platinum winner Craig Clark spills the beans
At the International TrendVision Award Final, Craig Clark from HOB Salons was crowned winner of the Platinum Color Vision Award. Craig started his journey as one of many during the photographic stages, and ended up being one of the 10 winners out of 69 competitors from 37 countries standing on the International stage in Berlin. He shared his experience of his journey through the TrendVision Award…
“Winning the Gold Color Vision Award at the UK & Ireland TrendVision Award Final felt amazing, it was so rewarding to see that all of my hard work had paid off. To go on to win Platinum at the International TrendVision Award in Berlin was incredible – I couldn’t believe it when they announced the UK as the winner!
“Having the chance to be mentored after the UK & Ireland Final by some of the best within the hairdressing industry including Akin Konizi [HOB Salons], Jayson Gray [Toni&Guy], Darren Amrbose [D&J Ambrose] and Bruce Masefield [Sassoon], gave me a huge boost of confidence. I gained knowledge and a skill set that I was able to put into practice for the International Final, helping me feel more confident in my presentation ability and in obtaining the perfect finish. The mentoring days also helped to take some of the pressure off which allowed me to really enjoy the competition.
“There was such a highly charged atmosphere at the international competition, it was surreal. I’ve never competed in anything like it before and I found it to be such an eye opening experience.
Since winning in Berlin, I’ve been back to the salon as normal but I’m still on cloud nine. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store over the next year; it’s going to be a busy one!”
