KMS California once again teamed up with designer Bora Aksu to open London Fashion Week SS14. Bora Aksu, famed for his romantic and playful style, invited KMS to work alongside head stylist Chrysostomos Chamalidis, as his exclusive hair partner.

The show took place in the British Fashion Council Courtyard Space at Somerset House with a front row including Kate Nash, Laura Whitmore and Fashionista Barbie.

Celebrating 10 years at London Fashion Week this year, Bora Aksu looked to his Turkish roots for inspiration for his collection “Nazar”. Childhood memories of a rich, colourful and diverse culture, long, hot summer days spent on the Aegean coast, bobbing fishing boats, sun-faded houses and lush gardens are some of the happy memories that Bora channelled into his cheerful collection.

The 20-strong hair team, led by Chrysostomos, included KMS Editorial Collective members – Andrea Dorata, Jane Freeman, Ashley McMillan & Samantha Earl, plus four stylists from Sarah Hodge salons based in Taunton and members of the KMS education team.

Chrysostomos explained the hair inspiration: “The style I created was evocative of a beautiful rural Turkish peasant girl who has been outside in fields all day. Her look is youthful and fresh with a windswept, but not frizzy, hair texture to perfectly complement Bora’s collection.”
