La Biosthetique and Societé Française de Biosthetique came together to showcase young talent at the Young Total Beauty Awards in Hilton, Bromsgrove.

The Awards came at the end of a busy day of business and creative inspiration for members of the SFB, who had travelled from all over the UK.

It saw six talented young hopefuls take to the stage after a formal dinner celebration to demo their passion and understanding of technique and trend. They created a variety of styles from vintage rolls and basket weave plaits to cascades of perfect waves. The winners were chosen on personal style, technique, suitability plus brand and trend interpretation.

La Biosthetique UK Creative Director Beverley Bates of Ekko in Banbury says: “They were so nervous and worked so hard and everyone that took part valued the experience.”

The panel of three judges included industry expert Jacki Wadeson of JWPR; salon owner Michelle Griffin and marketing consultant Rachel Gould. Michelle presented the awards to winner Charlotte Johnson, 19, from MC2 in Warrington and runner up Charlotte Hackford, 22, from The Avenue in Sheffield.

She said: “Each of our finalist’s demonstrated incredible skill, however we had to choose just one winner and runner up. Charlotte Johnson showed enormous talent with her curved ‘fins’ of hair and fish tail plait and we loved Charlotte Hackford’s beautiful textured crown of plaits. It was a wonderful standard of work.”
