WICKFORD HAIR SALON BECOMES FIRST IN UK TO GET NEW APPRENTICE AWARD
A LEADING trainer of young hairdressers is awarding a Wickford salon a new award to recognise outstanding training in hairdressing. Central Hair Essex will give the award to the team at Secrets Hair Salon on Tuesday February 4 during National Apprenticeship Week.
The new Central Approved Apprentice Training Salon Award will be given to salons working with Central who provide outstanding training in every aspect of hairdressing and barbering. With National Apprenticeship Week this year given the theme of Look Beyond, Central staff believed it was the perfect opportunity to recognise salons who go the extra mile when it comes to not only training apprentices but motivating and inspiring them too.
Martin Kolton MBE, Chairman of Central, said: “We realise that we work with some remarkable salons and we want to give them the special recognition they deserve. This is what the award is all about. The very first Central Approved Apprentice Training Salon Award will be given to Secrets salon in High Street Wickford.
Long Track Record
The team at Secrets have been working with Central for 20 years and during that time many apprentices have received outstanding training allowing them to enjoy successful careers in the industry. Tara Smith, who took over ownership of the salon 12 years ago, said: “The fact that we have such a long track record when it comes to working with Central speaks volumes.
An Absolute Honour
“They support us in everything we do to ensure our apprentices are trained to the highest professional standards, are inspired and motivated and, above all, happy in their jobs. “It is an absolute honour to be the first salon to get the new Approved Apprentice Training Salon Award and we will be displaying our window sticker with pride!”
