WESTROW COMPLETE 2016 GREAT NORTH RUN
Staff members from the award-winning Yorkshire-based salon group Westrow, which boasts eight salons across the region and an educational Academy in Leeds, have collectively completed the 2016 Great North Run.
Following on from Westrow director Marc Westerman’s success in completing the Great North Run in 2014 and 2015, the team, consisting of junior and senior staff members from each of the group’s salons, donned ‘Team Westrow’ printed vests and joined 56,000 members of the public in the 13.1 mile half marathon in the North East of England.
Westrow ran to raise money for charity in loving memory of Westrow staff who have sadly passed away, including Marc’s beloved brother Jamie, who had worked for the group for a number of years. The team is on its way to achieving its target of £5,000, with funds going to local charity, Martin House Children’s Hospice, which cares for children with life-limiting conditions.
Says Marc Westerman: “It was fantastic to be supported by so many of the team this year. Our training over the last few months was invaluable as everyone finished the race, which is a huge accolade. We are thrilled with the amount raised and are still determined to exceed our £5,000 target for Martin House Children’s Hospice. Any late donations would be welcomed.”
