Wella Professionals announces winners of the UK & Ireland TrendVision Award 2018
Wella’s TrendVision is one of the most incredible competitions in the industry, not just because of the spectacular grand final night, but the overall experience that winners receive is priceless. We’re here with all of the details about this year’s UK & Ireland Final of the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award, but first; did you know…
- You do not need to be a Wella salon to enter.
- The Gold winners from the UK & Ireland final will have face to face mentoring with leading icons including Darren Ambrose, Cos Sakkas, Akin Konizi, Paul Adamczuk and Robert Eaton. This is all to help them to prepare for the International final, which for 2018 is in Lisbon, Portugal.
- Gold winners then get flown out to Lisbon in November for the International final. This is a money can’t buy experience mentoring retreat which has been designed to develop their hairdressing skills, through intimate mentoring sessions with international hair icons. This is all paid for by Wella, and when they’re there they will have the experience of working with world class choreographers and production teams. The experience is incredible!
- When they return from Lisbon, winners will receive further mentoring with hair icons Bruce Masefield and Jayson Gray.
- If that’s not enough, winners receive a tailor made programme of education courses, and will take part in a photoshoot with a leading industry photographer.
About This Year’s Event
Hosted by Emma Willis, the legendary London venue, The Roundhouse in Camden, once again provided the spectacular setting for the annual UK & Ireland Final of the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2018.
What Happened
The night featured an iconic collection from Wella’s Technical Director, Robert Eaton, supported by the Russell Eaton Art Team who opened the show. The talented award-winning colourist presented Colour Me+, a stunning collection of multi-tonal hair colour brought to life through light and reflection.
An incredible show called Long Live the Queens from ghd demonstrated the truly creative nature of ghd, and celebrated all stylists, who it called the ‘Queen Makers’.
HOB Academy also presented its HOB 35 show, headed up by Akin Konizi and his creative team. The incredible collection celebrated its 35 year anniversary drawing inspiration from previous collections and current trends.
How They Entered
Entrants first entered a photographic competition, before competing against hundreds of hairdressers at the Regional Heats, with this year seeing 60 talented stylists and colourists battling it out. Competitors set to work creating a total look for an esteemed panel of judges, who included some of the most talented names in British hairdressing, such as Darren Ambrose, Cos Sakkas and Bruno Marc.
