TOP REWARD FOR LOCAL APPRENTICE AT Q HAIR AND BEAUTY

TOP REWARD FOR LOCAL APPRENTICE AT Q HAIR AND BEAUTY
Sam Robinson

The first student has passed out with flying colours through the beauty academy launched last year by Chichester’s multi award winning, Q Hair and Beauty.

Zara Evans

Thanks to the wealth of top-class training she has received, 20-year-old Zara Evans of Chichester was delighted to be the academy’s first success story and has gone on to achieve her first position as beauty therapist within the salon group.

The Concept

Q developed the pioneering concept as a way of providing outstanding training and hands on experience for the next local generation of beauty therapists and technicians. In partnership with Rewards Hair and Beauty Academy, the scheme opened at Q’s Donnington branch in June last year and was accredited by City and Guilds to deliver Level 2 Apprenticeship Diploma for Beauty Professionals.

Beauty Education

The academy offers all aspects of beauty education and as students complete training on any treatment, they are integrated into the salon environment to increase their skills and confidence with both clientele and a wide range of therapies.

At the end of their course, they take their End Point Assessment and will then be salon ready, armed with valuable and real experience. Zara has worked hard throughout the programme and is delighted to be the very first to pass thanks to the innovative project.

Apprenticeships at the Q Hair and Beauty academy offer education to an elite standard in an active working salon, providing the ideal environment for students to grow and develop their skills while building confidence in themselves and their ability for a future career in the beauty industry.

Elite Training

“We are thrilled that Zara has taken full advantage of the elite training she has been offered and we’re delighted she has now joined our team as a beauty therapist,” says Dawn Lawrence, chief executive of the Q Hair and Beauty Group.

“We believe we are the only hair and beauty salon in our region to offer apprenticeships in both hair and beauty. We currently have two students working in the academy, one working towards her Level 3, via the college, and our second enrolled with us for Level 2.

“The academy gives us the unique ability to grow our own team and create and replicate exactly what we provide for our future hairdressers. We have been able to create a future-proof business model and gain a strong reputation in West Sussex for education within the beauty industry – training the next generation and ensuring continuing excellence in our salons and community.”
