The Other Academy Awards!
Hairdressing icon Errol Douglas was the host and compere for the fourth Acade-my Hair & Beauty Salon Awards, which recognized and celebrated the stellar achievements of the Academy group’s salons and team.
About The Event
The black tie event was held at the prestigious Brookland’s Mercedes-Benz World.
Errol commented, “The evening was about the Academy Salon’s success not on-ly in cutting hair, but also the total client journey. From front of house and consul-tation to cutting, colour and beauty, the strengths of the amazing Academy team were celebrated.”
There were hotly contested Business Awards; including Record Average Takings; two for Education, and also Creative Awards. There were three nominees per category, which created a highly competitive, but fun atmosphere. Trophies were presented to each of the winners by representatives from Academy salons’ manufacturer and brand partners Balmain Paris Hair Cou-ture, , Alterna Haircare, Salon Evolution Group, Salon Spy and Inter Training Services.
Who Scooped Big?
The award ceremony portion of the fabulous evening climaxed with the presentation of the prize for the individual Salon of the Year which went to Cobham, while a genuinely surprised but hugely ecstatic John Baxter -Hill from the Cobham Salon scooped Hairdresser of the Year for the first time. The much sought after Manager of the Year was also presented to a delighted Sarah Biss ,Manager of Esher she said “I can’t believe I’ve won but I’ve enjoyed every little twist and turn of this fan-tastic industry– this award makes me so proud and even more passionate about my work and my team”
